Welcome to the Third workshop of the BWA Workshop series from BWCI.
Date: 20 January 2012
Venue: Lecture Hall No 21, 2nd Floor, Victor Menezes Convention Centre, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Powai, Mumbai 400 076
The expectations around Broadband Wireless and LTE have been growing in India for the past one year. It will not be far when we start seeing some implementation of TD-LTE in Indian metros. The architectures and topologies chosen for 4G will be more heterogeneous than the earlier 2G/3G networks. The area of hetnets will be interesting to look at from the benefits they bring and the challenges they will pose. Another aspect of the BWA systems is the huge jump in bandwidth the access networks will offer. The overall network, specifically the backhaul has to evolve to cater to this need as the BWA access networks and the data traffic grow. The Mumbai workshop will focus on these two themes - hetnets and backhaul. Continuing the model followed in first and second workshops, various speakers will cover different perspectives of the themes - from points of view of operators, vendors and R&D organizations. The sessions and the speakers are given below.
